About the Event

Circadian String Quartet presents "Love and Chains," a concert about the bonds that can and cannot be broken. Join us for an evening that includes the world premiere of "Eurydice's Defiance," an opera in 5 acts by David Ryther featuring Lily Storm, with a libretto by novelist Kimiko Guthrie. The opera explores the unjust detention of Eurydice and her quest to be reunited with her son Orfeus. It will be paired with Antonín Dvořák's love song to his homeland, his String Quartet in E-flat major, Op. 51. Nicknamed "The Slavonic," the quartet is infused with dances and rhythms that illustrate Dvořák's immutable bond with his homeland.
